The village at present

At present population of the village counts more than 1700 inhabitants. Several private entrepreneurs dealing in food processing industry, production of structural elements, earthwork, road transport and trading are based in the village. The significant role in the life of the village plays also the agricultural cooperative farm which covers majority of the farmland. Basic facts

 The village Chocholná-Velčice is located on the right bank of the middle flow of the river Váh in the Trenčín basin, about 9 km to the southwest of the town Trenčín.  From the northwest the village is protected by the White Carpathians. The cadastre of our village is formed as a narrow stripe spreading from the plain of the Váh up to the border with the Czech Republic. read more ..

Village history

The first written record about village Malá Chocholná dates back to the year 1396 written as Kys Chocholná. Further written documents about the village comes from years 1422 (Hoholná), 1470 (Kokholná), 1598 (Kys Kocholná) and from 1773 (Malá Chocholná, hung. Kischocholna, Kistarajos). read more ..
